Hank Ballard and the Midnighters - A Proper Introduction to. CD
Hank Ballard's place in Rock and Roll history was cemented with the sexually explicated lyrics and gospel rhythms of his songs. Ballard with his group the Midnighters recorded several hits in the early fifties. "Work With Me Annie" and "Annie Had A Baby" both sold over a million copies even though they were banned. These amongst other jumping R&B and sweet ballads are included on this Intro. Hank Ballard was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, a well-deserved honour for this immediately recognisable and idiosyncratic front-man who died of throat cancer on March 2, 2003.
